Sketch Today

Lotso sketches from today :) My goal is to try to do gesture sketching every day for practice in order to get my skill set up so I can carry it on into my storyboards. Plus I'm also planning on doing more live action film studies for storyboarding in order to change up my shots. I was inspired by Dave Pimental's many fantastic gesture sketches in his book "Evoke" (he is incredible!) Some of these sketches were based off of home videos that I watched. Enjoy!

CTN Thoughts and Gesture Sketches

Hi everyone! :) Wow! CTN was incredible and such a memorable experience! I've never seen so many animators in one place at once, all coming together for their passion for animation.  Everyone was really nice and extremely easy to talk to, and I loved every minute of the convention. Plus you could feel the creativity overflowing throughout the convention floor. Very inspiring in every way. I really want to go next year, and now I am more inspired than ever to work on my portfolio, and remembering to have fun creating art. Thank you to everyone at the convention for being awesome and nice! Here are some gesture sketches I drew at CTN in the Atrium hall area, and also during Dave Pimental's gesture drawing workshop (so much fun!) Enjoy!

I Love Green Tea!

First off, I really, really, REALLY like green tea. Pretty much anything green tea flavored I'll eat, that's why when I went to Japan in the summer I was in heaven.  Anywhere I went that had green tea ice cream, green tea dango, or even just plain ol green tea I just had to have. But my favorite green tea food is.....

GREEN TEA KIT KATS!!! (yes they do exist)

Basically, green tea kit kats are just white chocolate kit kats, but the white chocolate is green tea flavored, as is the delicious powdered layers on the inside. Surprisingly, the green tea flavor isn't all that strong, which makes it sweeter.

I could pretty much eat them all day, which is why I bought a lot in Japan to bring home.

But alas, came that fateful day where I was on my last green tea kit kat.

I was devastated to say the least.

But hey, even though I tried to be overly sentimental about it,

it's still food, and well I ate it like that.

However, recently I went to go buy a bento at my local Japanese market and...

There they were, along with two other varieties, vanilla ice cream and dark chocolate.

I was pretty much overjoyed that now I didn't have to have them shipped over from Japan if I ever wanted to have one again,

but I was also just plain ecstatic over the fact that I now had the opportunity to buy the kit kats whenever I wanted.

Ok, that's all for now :) I might want to do some more of these on Japanese food, but we'll see. Enjoy! :)
